Yale LET(s) Lead Leadership Academy 2025-2026

The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health’s Lived Experience Transformational Leadership Academy (LET(s) Lead) is partnering with the Collaborative Learning College at CAMH to offer its next academy! Facilitated by a diverse team of national and international leaders, most who are people who identify as having lived and learned expertise, the course will run from September 2025 to May 2026. This program is open to individuals across Canada.

Program Components

  • 1) Weekly seminar. The first phase consists of a 2-hour weekly virtual seminar over 11 weeks (Thursdays from 1-3 EST). Course content includes topics such as developing a personal vision, transformational change, and appreciative inquiry.
  • 2) Project phase. The second phase takes place over the next 5-6 months and consists of fellows developing a project idea and being matched with a mentor based on areas of interest.

Upon completion of both phases, fellows will graduate and receive a certificate of completion from Yale PRCH.

Recovery colleges offer an innovative, inclusive, and collaborative approach to learning, distinct from traditional education models. Unlike standard or top-down medical education, recovery colleges emphasize the collective knowledge and lived experiences of everyone involved.  Course proposals should embrace and exhibit a learner-centered approach, stepping away from traditional hierarchies and focusing on mutual growth and empowerment.  In this environment, you’re both a learner and an educator, fostering a space where all participants contribute to and benefit from the shared learning experience.

Key principles we look for include:

  • Inclusivity: Ensuring a welcoming environment where diverse voices and experiences are valued.
  • Collaboration: Recognizing that everyone, including facilitators, brings unique insights and strengths.
  • Interaction: Engaging participants through dynamic, participatory methods that honor each person’s journey and knowledge.
